TRINITRON

Last year in Tokyo, Miha and I joined the avant-garde pop band Trinitron. It was founded by our friend Ian several years ago and we got involved for the recording of a Candies' cover song for Ian's compilation that he was about to release on Valentine's day.
The song was such a big success (well, among our friends) that we decided to record an entire EP. Three original songs and one more cover. It  was a japanese cover of a Slovenian song covered again by our Slovenian/Japanese/English band. WINK- Namida wo misenaide- Boys don't cry (Moulin Rouge). That was kind of a postmodern moment, I guess:)
Anyway, the EP called More real than news is apparently sold out:)
And we are about to record a new one soon.

Dirty Dancing

This post is not an introduction to Bollywood, since the songs bellow are not classics of Indian film music, they are more of it's hidden gems. The movie Daud was not a commercial success, but it had a wonderful soundtrack, with songs written by a hitmaker A.R. Rahman (also responsible for the music from Rangeela and Delhi 6).
The song Zahreela Pyar is a heavy dark sexual tune sung by unrivaled Asha Bhosle and Leena Chandra Das. Urmila Matondkar, one of the sexiest indian actresses, was the best choice to impersonate Asha's sensual vocal on the screen. Asha's voice and Urmila's body- a killer combination!
Somebody who is not used to the 'gorgeous woman/ not so gorgeous guy' Bollywood combination wouldn't like Sunjay Dutt by Urmila's side, but I think he actually adds a lot to the presentation of primal sexual energies in the scene. A male prototype (a prehistoric one).

I also like the song Shabba Shabba, sung by Sonu Nigam, Ranu Mukherji and Neeraj Vohra. This one is just really bizarre-  alcohol, drugs, cripples, goats, pigeons, sadhus- mixed into a crazy psychedelic party- worth watching the whole way through.

Enjoy:)

Tonight I'm a rock'n'roll star

I had a photo shooting for 'Kirameki girls' about two weeks ago. It was fun, I felt like they're dressing me up as Miyavi. Glamour and rock'n'roll!!!

Kaki

This Friday (May 6th) I'm having my first concert. I will perform as Kaki. Kaki is my alter ego that I created one year ago when I came back from Japan and I was unemployed and really bored. Kaki is a mysterious girl, more a fairy tale character than a real one, who doesn't have a public life, she just stays at home with her toys, lost in her daydreams.  She also likes internet, so basically I can describe her as a vintage cyber teenage fairy.  She is me but also she is not me. She uses my body when she wants to take photos of herself, but she keeps her wigs.

Kaki recorded 5 songs so far. I already included one of her songs on my DJ mixtape "Cabbages and Condoms". Now I uploaded the song on my Soundcloud profile.

So, please, if you can, come to see Kaki performing at Fashion Crisis, this Friday (May 6th) in Bar One/ Koenji, at 20.00.
